The Fire Training Academy, located near North Bend, serves local communities, state agencies, and industry by providing live fire training to fire and emergency response personnel, both public and private.

Driving Directions: Take Exit 38 off I-90 and follow signs

Housing consisting of bunk style rooms with two bunk-beds is available on a very limited basis at $14.00 per night. Individuals must provide their own bedding and toiletries. We cannot guarantee housing availability until the first day of your course. If requesting housing, please contact the Fire Training Academy and give the following information:
  • Name
  • Arrival/departure dates and times
  • Course enrolled in
  • Telephone number
Due to federal and state safety regulations, no student shall be allowed to wear facial hair that interferes with the sealing of the self-contained breathing apparatus mask.

Confirmations will be sent upon our receiving your payment and registration form. Receipts are not issued. Please keep a copy of your payment for your files. Smoking is allowed outside in designated areas only. Please refrain from smoking in any of the buildings or on the drill ground.

Showers are available for student's use in the back of the classrooms. Students must provide their own toiletries.

Alcohol, drugs and firearms are not allowed on the premises. Anyone found in possession of these items will be asked to leave immediately.

Students must supply their own meals. There are refrigerators, microwaves and vending machines available in the dining hall for your use.


Directions to Academy


Eastbound - take exit 38 off I-90, turn right off the exit. The road will run parallel to the freeway approximately two miles, then curves left back under the freeway and through a yellow pole gate. Follow the one lane access road approximately 2.5 miles to the Fire Training Academy administration building. Speed limit on access road is 20 mph.

Westbound - take exit 38 off I-90, turn right off the exit. Follow road through the yellow gate to access road. Follow the single lane access road approximately 2.5 miles to the administration building. Speed limit on the access road is 20 mph.
