Skagit and Whatcom County – Troopers in Skagit and Whatcom County arrest the same driver, a 21 year old Ferndale man, for DUI three times in four consecutive days.
On March 8, 2021 at approximately 2:36pm a Trooper in Whatcom County observed a vehicle on I-5 in Ferndale with severe lane travel. The Trooper stopped the vehicle, investigated and arrested the driver for Driving Under the Influence (DUI). After being processed for DUI, due to medical issues, the driver was released to the hospital. This was the first of three DUI arrests.
On March 9, 2021 at approximately 1:18pm a separate Trooper responded to a non-injury minor collision involving the same driver on I-5 near Mount Vernon. The Trooper investigated the collision and arrested the same driver for DUI. There was a requirement for the driver to be evaluated by a hospital prior to him being booked into the Skagit County Jail. Due to medical issues, the hospital determined an overnight stay of the individual was necessary. He was again released to the hospital.
On March 11th 2021 at approximately 0945 hours a third Trooper observed the same suspect vehicle with severe lane travel on I-5 near Mount Vernon. The Trooper stopped the vehicle, investigated and arrested the same driver for DUI a third time. The driver was booked into the Skagit County Jail on March 11, 2021 at approximately 1:30pm.
