King County: At approximately 10:30am on May 6, 2021 Washington State Patrol (WSP) communications received 9-1-1 calls advising of a collision NB I-5 just south of S 320th in which one of the two vehicles was on its top.

Once troopers arrived they were able to determine that a white Subaru was traveling at a high rate of speed and struck a blue Nissan causing it to roll over.  The Subaru did not stop until it became disable about a mile north of the scene. The driver and passenger fled the scene on foot.  The passenger was apprehended about an hour after the collision but the driver was not located. The Subaru was confirmed to be a stolen vehicle out of Oregon.

The Nissan driver sustained a dislocated shoulder and the young child in the vehicle with him was uninjured.

Due to the nature of the injuries to the driver of the Nissan the collision is being investigated as a Vehicular Assault.

WSP detectives are seeking any witnesses or anyone with information about this collision. Please contact Detective Olsen at (425) 401-7746 or by email at Franklin.Olsen@wsp.wa.gov.
