WSP seeking vehicle from SR 16 serious injury hit-and-run

PORT ORCHARD – The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the driver of a blue pickup truck involved in a serious injury hit-and-run collision on State Route 16 near Port Orchard Tuesday afternoon.

The collision was reported at just before 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2021, on eastbound State Route 16 just west of the Tremont Street exit. A newer black Chevrolet Camaro was traveling eastbound in the left lane when it was struck from behind by a blue pickup truck, believed to be a late 1990s Ford Ranger.

The Camaro went off the roadway to the right, striking a tree. The blue pickup truck was last seen continuing eastbound.

The driver and passenger of the Camaro were both transported to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Tacoma, Wash., with serious injuries. The driver of the pickup truck remains outstanding at this time.
