Tacoma – A man was left with serious injuries when he became the victim of a hit and run collision. WSP detectives are seeking the public’s assistance identifying the vehicle and driver.

On Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at approximately 7:38 PM, a dark-colored Dodge RAM pickup truck struck the rear of a semi-trailer. The vehicle then struck the driver’s door of a Nissan D21 pickup truck on the exit ramp from southbound Interstate 5 to westbound S 38th Street in Pierce County. The Dodge RAM pickup truck failed to stop at the scene and continued westbound on S 38th Street, leaving the driver of the Nissan behind with serious injuries. The Dodge turned right onto S Steele Street at which point it proceeded towards S Sprague Avenue via S 37th Street. The vehicle was last seen passing Titus-Will Ford northbound on S Sprague Avenue.

According to a witness, the driver of the Dodge RAM was a white male, possibly bald. While currently unable to determine the vehicle’s exact color, vehicle debris found at the scene lead investigators to believe that the vehicle could be dark gray or black. Extensive damage can likely be observed on the vehicle’s front.

WSP Detectives request assistance to locate the suspect vehicle. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Det. Kevin Pratt at (253) 538-3173 or Kevin.Pratt@wsp.wa.
