January 14, 2022

King County: At approximately 12:05 pm on January 13, 2022, Washington State Patrol (WSP) communications received a 9-1-1 call from a driver advising that he had been shot at by another vehicle WB SR 18 near the Issaquah/Hobart road.

The caller advised that he was uninjured and that the suspect vehicle continued WB SR 18 and he had taken the exit to the Issaquah/Hobart road and would wait for contact at the Hobart Market.

Once troopers and detectives arrived they learned that this incident began WB SR 18 near the Tiger Mountain summit.  The victim, driving a black GMC Sierra truck was involved in a road rage incident with an aggressive driver as they were approaching the summit. The two vehicles continued westbound and as the victim began to exit to the Issaquah/Hobart road the driver of the suspect vehicle fired multiple rounds from a handgun and continued on WB SR 18. The suspect vehicle was described as a silver early 2000’s Toyota Tacoma with no license plate with a disabled placard hanging from the rear view mirror.  The suspect was described as a 30 to 40 year old male with salt and pepper hair.

The victim vehicle was inspected and one bullet hole was discovered in the tailgate. (See picture below).

WSP detectives are seeking witnesses to this incident and anyone with information to help identify the suspect and suspect vehicle.  Please contact Detective Ford at Brody.Ford@wsp.wa.gov.
