King County: At approximately 2 PM yesterday, April 2, 2022, Washington State Patrol (WSP) communications received a 9-1-1 call stating that two vehicles were traveling NB I-5 near I-405 and were shooting at each other.

Further information revealed that the two vehicles were involved in a collision with a third vehicle NB I-5 near I-405 and the occupants of a KIA Sorrento fled on foot.  The other vehicle involved was a Jeep Compass that pulled over north of the scene. The two suspects that fled were subsequently apprehended by Tukwila PD and a K-9 track found a backpack that they had thrown containing two rifles and a handgun.  The driver of the Jeep was also placed into custody and transported to Harborview Medical Center with a non-life threatening injury.

A total of three suspects from this shooting were booked into the King County Jail.  The suspects from the KIA Sorrento were Jalen A Womack, 21 year old male and Lawrence Isaiah Groce, 23.  The suspect from the Jeep, Jaquel Demerson, 26 was treated at Harborview and subsequently booked into the King County Jail.

At this point in the investigation it is believed that this was a gang related shooting and the investigation is ongoing.
