April 19. 2022

King County: At approximately 12:10pm on April 15, 2022, Washington State Patrol communications received a 9-1-1 call reporting that a gray Dodge Challenger was driving erratically EB I-90 near MP 22.

Further reports advised that this vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and passing on the shoulder.  The vehicle then stopped in the left lane of EB I-90 at SR 18 and the driver exited with a shotgun and a handgun in a holster and began firing the shotgun into the median.

Troopers along with Issaquah PD, Snoqualmie/North Bend PD and deputies with the King County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene and took the suspect into custody without incident.  No injuries were sustained and no vehicles were struck during the firing of the shotgun.  Prior to the arrest both EB and WB I-90 were closed for safety reasons until the subject was taken into custody.

Washington State Patrol detectives are seeking any witnesses and anyone with information pertaining to this incident.  Please contact Detective Haake by email at Russ.Haake@wsp.wa.gov.
