FIFE, Wash. – The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is seeking witnesses of a shooting that occurred on the interchange ramp from 54TH Avenue East to southbound Interstate 5 on Monday morning.

At approximately 11:12 a.m., a dark-colored Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on the interchange ramp when the driver of a teal, older-model BMW SUV pulled alongside the Silverado’s passenger side, brandished a handgun, and fired one shot into the Silverado’s front passenger door. The teal BMW continued southbound on the interchange ramp before entering the southbound lanes of Interstate 5. Thankfully, the driver of the Silverado was not injured.

While no license plate information for the BMW SUV is available at this time, a temporary registration was observed in the top left corner of the vehicle’s rear window. Witnesses described the driver of the BMW as a clean-shaven black male with braided hair approximately two to three inches in length.

WSP detectives request assistance in locating the suspect and vehicle. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Kevin Pratt (253) 538-3173.
