SEATAC, Wash. – The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is seeking witnesses of a road rage shooting incident and subsequent collision that occurred at around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday on northbound Interstate 5 near 216th Street on March 15, 2023.
The incident began with a white vehicle driving erratically and cutting in front of other vehicles. The driver of a black passenger car driving beside the white vehicle, and shortly after sustained a gunshot wound to the face, resulting in the driver colliding with the barrier on the right shoulder and continuing northbound before coming to a stop in the right lane.
The driver of the white vehicle continued northbound, fleeing the scene.
WSP troopers arrived on scene and provided life-saving efforts to the injured driver before they were transported to Harborview Medical Center.
WSP detectives request assistance in locating the suspect and vehicle. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Tim Hanson at tim.hanson@wsp.wa.gov

UPDATE: Today, April 20, 2023, Francisco Castro-Guzman, 20 years old from Auburn was booked into the King County Jail for Assault 1st Degree with a firearm enhancement. A Crime Stoppers tip steered the investigation toward the suspect and probable cause was developed to submit charges to the King County Prosecutor’s Office. Detectives reached out to local agencies in an attempt to locate Castro-Guzman and were contacted earlier this week by the King County Sheriff’s Department advising that the suspect was at Harborview Medical Center and they were investigating a shooting where Castro Guzman was the victim. WSP troopers were assigned to Castro-Guzman until his release from the hospital after which he was booked into jail. WSP would like to thank Crime Stoppers and the tipster that led to the arrest and charges in this case.
If anyone has further information please email Detective Hanson at tim.hanson@wsp.wa.gov.
