King County: At approximately 9:40pm last night, May 17, 2023, Washington State Patrol (WSP) communications received a call from an individual reporting that they were shot at on SR 18.

Once troopers arrived they were able to confirm that the victim vehicle was struck in the driver’s door and the grill which disabled the vehicle.

The victim was driving a 2017 Ford F150 and indicated he was traveling WB 18 approaching I-5 following his girlfriend when a dark colored four door sedan cut his girlfriend off. His girlfriend entered SB I-5 and he continued WB 18 and pulled up alongside the vehicle at the traffic signal near the end of SR 18. Words were exchanged at which time the passenger in the other vehicle fired a round into the driver’s door of the victim’s vehicle. The vehicles continued westbound when another shot was fired into the grill of the victim vehicle. The suspect vehicle took the next right and fled the scene.

The victim advised the driver of the suspect vehicle was female and the passenger that shot at him was an Asian male wearing a mask. No injuries were sustained by the victim.

WSP detectives are seeking anyone that witnessed this shooting or has information on the identity of the dark colored sedan to contact the Washington State Patrol. Email any information to Detective Hanson at Tim.Hanson@wsp.wa.gov.
