1985: State Fire Protection Board established to adopt and implement a state fire protection master plan which included policies to: support local self-sufficiency in code enforcement and investigations; develop and adopt a statewide system for standards, certification, and training; oversee the development and implementation of a statewide fire prevention education program; and establish a clearing house in fire service training to gather and evaluate training materials for review by a training and education committee.
