Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Seizure in Clark County

Clark County, WA – On February 27, 2025, at approximately 10:30 AM, troopers in Clark County arrested two men from the state of New York transporting large amounts of marijuana and Ketamine. The men were traveling from northern Washington to central California.

Troopers observed a red Dodge Hornet traveling at a high rate of speed southbound Interstate 5 near milepost 6. The vehicle was traveling 19-miles faster than the posted speed limit. When the troopers contacted the vehicle, they observed two large black trash backs full in the rear seat and an overwhelming odor of marijuana emanating from the passenger area. Troopers asked several investigating questions which led to both occupants being placed under arrest and booked into the Clark County Jail.

Multiple black trash bags were found in the rear compartment and trunk area. The bags contained approximately 160 pounds of marijuana. Troopers also found 11 grams of Ketamine powder in the vehicle. Combined, the seizure is estimated to have a street value of $800,000 – $900,000. The men are charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver, as well as Possession of Ketamine with Intent to Deliver.
