King County: At approximately 8:20pm yesterday, May 7, 2025, a Washington State Patrol (WSP) trooper attempted to stop vehicle for improper merging WB I-90 near Preston.
The driver refused to stop, and a pursuit was initiated. The trooper performed a Pursuit Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver under 40 mph but was unsuccessful and the pursuit continued. The vehicle exited to Highlands Drive and reentered EB I-90 where it stopped on the ramp. During the pursuit there was a silver Infiniti G37 that continuously attempted to interfere with the trooper. The vehicle took the exit to High Point after losing the right rear tire and ended up spinning out on the offramp ending up facing the wrong way. The Infiniti went around the vehicle and sped off WB on I-90. The vehicle drove the wrong way on the ramp striking patrol vehicles and entered WB I-90 traveling the wrong way. Troopers heading to the scene began slowing traffic down EB I-90 in anticipation of the vehicle coming the wrong way. Shortly after, the vehicle went out of control and ended up in the ditch where the driver was taken into custody. It was discovered that the female passenger in this vehicle was holding a child on their lap in the front seat. Thankfully, there were no injuries to any involved.
During this time other troopers were attempting to locate the Infiniti and were advised by the Department of Transportation that they located the Infiniti on the cameras WB I-90 passing 148th in Bellevue. Troopers initiated a pursuit traveling WB I-90 into Seattle where the vehicle exited to SB Rainier Ave. King County Sheriff’s Guardian One helicopter took over tracking the vehicle until it came to a stop near Swift and Albro at which time the driver and passenger were taken into custody with the assistance of Seattle PD officers.
The driver in the initial pursuit was identified as 21-year-old Victor A. Hernandez-Paredes. He was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of Felony Eluding, Reckless Endangerment x2, Obstruction and DUI.
The driver of the Infiniti was identified as 18-year-old Daniel O. Hernandez-Paredes, the brother of the first driver. He was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of Felony Eluding, Reckless Driving and Obstruction.
Below are links for parts of both pursuits.
These pursuits clearly show the recklessness and irresponsibility of these two suspects and will not be tolerated.
Brothers that commit felonies together go to jail together.
The Washington State Patrol would like to thank the Seattle Police Department and the King County Sheriff’s Office Air Support for their assistance in bringing this to a safe resolution and apprehending the suspect(s).
