Olympia – The sale and discharge period for consumer fireworks begins June 28, 2019. Unless a city or county has enacted an ordinance to limit or prohibit the sale, purchase, possession, or use of consumer fireworks, the following chart details the dates and times consumer fireworks may be sold or discharged:

A state license is required along with a local permit to operate a fireworks stand in Washington. The Washington State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) issued 698 retail fireworks stand licenses in 2019; this number is close to the previous year’s total of 700.
