One Arrested at Capitol Campus for Assault

Olympia- On Saturday December 7, 2019, a 40 year old male from Chehalis was arrested for assault fourth degree following a clash between two groups at the Legislative Building on the Capitol Campus. Neither of the two groups had a permit for an event when they arrived at the Capitol. One of the group’s members identified themselves as being affiliated with the Patriot Prayer. The second group refused to claim an affiliation, but wore Antifa symbols on their clothing. The male arrested was a member of the second group. The victim of the assault was a member of the Patriot Prayer and was treated by aid at the scene for facial abrasions.

Additional troopers were called to assist, and both groups dispersed and fled the area before the troopers’ arrival. Investigation into the altercation is ongoing.
