WSP Media Release Cover

August 18, 2020 –

King County: On August 4, 2020 at approximately 5:15 PM Trooper Cadet Boyd along with his Field Training Officer Trooper Olsen stopped a vehicle for following too close EB I-90 at SR 18.

During the interaction with the driver of the vehicle Trooper Olsen noticed extreme nervous behavior which led him to ask for consent to search the vehicle. Consent was granted and Snoqualmie / North Bend PD Officer Fischbeck contacted the scene with his narcotics detection K-9 Pooch.  K-9 Pooch alerted on a lunch box that was discovered behind the driver’s seat and when searched contained a large amount of Fentanyl and Heroine.

In total there was 10 lbs of Fentynal with a street value of $6.4 million dollars and 2 pounds of Heroine valued at $75 thousand dollars!

This is a great expample of teamwork and relying on training and experience to remove these dangerous substances from the streets.  WELL DONE!
