September 10, 2021

King County: On September 9, 2021 a King County Superior Court Judge found probable cause to charge three individuals in the 2019 drive-by shooting death of James Richardson.

James Richardson was shot and killed while traveling southbound on State Route 509 in Burien on December 29, 2019.  Washington State Patrol (WSP) detectives along with detectives from local police agencies worked in collaboration to gather evidence and completed a thorough investigation.  This allowed the King County Prosecutor’s Office to present charges in King County Superior Court where a judge found probable cause to charge three suspects with Homicide in the first degree.

The WSP is committed to keeping our communities safe and without the tremendous work by detectives from multiple agencies this case would not have resulted in the charging of three suspects.  Well done by all!
