September 28, 2021

King County:  At approximately 7:55 pm on Friday, September 24, 2021 Washington State Patrol (WSP) communications received a 9-1-1 call from someone advising that they were shot at on I-90.

The caller advised that they were on a motorcycle and they were having an issue with a Mazda passenger car and made a gesture toward the driver.  The driver proceeded to display and fire a handgun once toward the motorcycle grazing the front fender.

The rider refused to stop following the Mazda and continued until troopers intercepted them at which time the driver of the Mazda was taken into custody without incident.  The handgun was removed from his waistband and taken as evidence.

The suspect was identified as Axel Pola from Seattle and he was booked into the King County Jail on the charge of Drive By Shooting.

This is a good reminder to drive/ride with respect for others on the roadway especially since it is unknown what other drivers are capable of as shown in this case.  Thankfully no injuries were sustained in this shooting.
