Eatonville – Two people were left with serious injuries when they became victims of a hit and run collision. WSP detectives are seeking the public’s assistance identifying the vehicle and driver.
On Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at approximately 10:29 PM, a black 2016 Hyundai Tucson was struck in the rear by another vehicle on State Route 7 at 340th Street E near mile marker 37 in Pierce County. The impact forcefully pushed the Hyundai into a ditch where it struck a utility pole, seriously injuring the driver and a passenger. The other vehicle failed to stop at the scene and continued in an unknown direction on State Route 7, leaving the victims behind.
While unable to determine the make and model, vehicle debris found at the scene lead investigators to believe that the running vehicle could be a dark green or blue sedan. According to a witness, the running vehicle could be a Volkswagen Jetta. It is likely that damage can be observed on the vehicle’s right front with a broken bumper and headlight.
WSP Detectives request assistance to locate the suspect vehicle. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Det. Shannon Beeler at (253) 538-3172 or Shannon.Beeler@wsp.wa.gov
