PUYALLUP – Washington State Patrol (WSP) detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect of a drive-by shooting that occurred at the intersection of State Route 161 and State Route 167.

The incident occurred at around 5:32 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022. After a gray Dodge RAM pick-up truck and a black Scion hatchback had collided with another at the intersection of State Route 161 and State Route 167, the driver of the Dodge pulled to the side of the road and stopped. The driver of the black Scion pulled his vehicle beside the Dodge’s passenger side, pulled a gray handgun, and fired one round into the pick-up truck’s front passenger side quarter panel. Subsequently, the black Scion hatchback continued north on State Route 167.

The driver of the Scion was described as a white male. While unable to determine the exact year and model, the Scion was described to have dark, tinted windows and a body style similar to models from 2007.

Additionally, investigators believe collision damage can likely be observed on the Scion’s driver’s side.

WSP Detectives request assistance to locate the suspect and vehicle. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Tessa Schahfer at (253) 538-3172.
