WSP investigation into KCSO officer-involved-shooting continues

BREMERTON – The Washington State Patrol (WSP) detectives are continuing their investigation into an officer involved shooting involving the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) that occurred the afternoon of Sunday, July 24, 2022.

The investigation is ongoing and details are limited as WSP detectives continue to collect and analyze evidence, conduct interviews and forensically document the scene. Details that can be confirmed at this time are as follows:

Kitsap County resident David Alexander Knox, 33, was observed fleeing the scene of a shots fired incident at Harlow Drive at around 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Knox was last seen armed with a firearm as he fled the area in a Hyundai Sonata until he crashed the vehicle in the area of Price Road Northwest that was under construction.

Two KCSO deputies were first to arrive on scene, and during this contact shots were fired. WSP detectives are continuing to examine evidence and conduct witness interviews to determine who fired and how many shots were exchanged.

Neither the responding deputies nor Knox sustained any injuries during the Price Road shooting incident. Knox was later taken into custody by KCSO deputies.
