King County: Just after 6:30 am this morning, September 30, 2022, Washington State Patrol (WSP) communications received a 9-1-1 call from a driver that reported they heard four gunshots in the area of SB I-5 Express lanes just north of the Ship Canal Bridge.  The caller also advised that they observed an individual that appeared as if they were struck by gunfire.

Troopers arrived at the scene a few minutes later and found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg and immediately applied a tourniquet.  The subject was conscious and talking to the troopers.

A short time later an adult male came out of the encampment suffering from a gunshot wound to his hand.  Both individuals were transported to Harborview with non-life-threatening injuries.

WSP detectives are asking for anyone that was in the area at the time of this shooting and can provide information to assist with the investigation to email Detective Early at Todd.Early@wsp.wa.gov.
