WSP detectives create tip line for Skykomish road rage shooting

SKYKOMISH, WASH. – Washington State Patrol (WSP) detectives continue to seek the public’s assistance in locating the driver and vehicle involved in a fatal road rage shooting near Skykomish earlier this month.

The WSP activated a tip-line and are providing an online option for the public to directly upload any videos or photos related to a tragedy that began as a road rage incident at approximately 7:48 p.m. on state Route 2 near milepost 63 on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022.

Anyone with information related to the incident is encouraged to call or text the WSP tip line at (360) 529-7367 or upload any images or video directly to the WSP Evidence Portal.

The incident began as road rage between a silver 2014 Kia Sorrento and what witnesses describe as a Subaru SUV. The driver of the Kia attempted to create distance between the Kia and the Subaru during the confrontation. An occupant from the Subaru shot through the rear passenger window of the Kia, striking one of the occupants, a 24-year-old Everett woman, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Subaru fled the area in an unknown direction. WSP detectives are requesting assistance in locating the vehicle, described by witnesses as a dark colored Subaru SUV with a roof mounted cargo basket on top.
