King County: Just after 10:00am this morning the Washington State Patrol (WSP) was contacted by the Bellevue Police Department to investigate a collision involving one of their motorcycle officers.

Troopers and detectives responded to the scene in the 500 block of Bellevue Way SE. It was determined that the Bellevue Police Motorcycle Officer Jordan Jackson was traveling northbound on Bellevue Way and a vehicle entered Bellevue Way SE from a parking lot on the east side of the road which the motorcycle officer struck.

The investigation so far has shown that there was no impairment involved and also no indication that speed was a factor. The officer was transported to Harborview Medical Center and sadly did not survive his injuries.

This investigation continues as the WSP Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) processes all evidence from the scene.

WSP detectives are seeking anyone that may have been in the area that may have witnessed this tragic collision to contact the Washington State Patrol.

The Washington State Patrol expresses our heartfelt condolences to our brothers and sisters at Bellevue Police Department in this tragic time.
