King County: At approximately 12:45am this morning, March 19, 2023, Washington State Patrol (WSP) communications received a 9-1-1 call from an Uber driver reporting that his passenger sustained a gunshot wound while he was traveling EB SR 520.
Further investigation revealed that the Uber driver was transporting his passenger from Seattle to Bellevue and approaching Bellevue Way on EB SR 520. An unknown passenger vehicle pulled alongside and fire a single gunshot which penetrated the left rear door and struck the passenger in the back seat. The passenger was transported to Overlake Medical Center and underwent surgery. At this point there is no update on his condition.
