King County: Yesterday, May 10, 2023 Washington State Patrol (WSP) troopers assigned to King County recovered four stolen vehicles one of which led to an arrest.

Stolen #1 – Nissan NV 200. This vehicle was discovered just after 5:00am abandoned in the city of Auburn and was taken to a tow yard for safekeeping pending a response from the owner.

Stolen #2 – 2016 KIA Soul. This vehicle was found in the city of Kent just after 6:00am when the trooper’s LOJACK system alerted that there was a stolen vehicle nearby. The trooper determined this vehicle was abandoned. This vehicle was also taken to a tow yard at the request of the owner on the stolen report.

Stolen #3 – 2011 Hyundai Elantra. This vehicle was contacted by a trooper when the registered owner found their own vehicle abandoned WB SR 520 just east of I-5. The owner called their own tow truck to take the vehicle.

Stolen #4 – 2002 Chevy Silverado. This incident started around 11:20pm with WSP aircraft advising they observed a vehicle NB SR 167 near 15th NW traveling at 93mph with a top speed of 98mph. Troopers stood by at SR 516 when the vehicle exited and fled when a traffic stop was initiated. The aircraft followed the vehicle for almost 10 minutes until it parked in a Cul de Sac at which time the two occupants fled on foot. Troopers responded to the area and were able to place the female driver and male passenger into custody.

This is another example of the great work troopers are doing every day and the invaluable asset of the WSP Aviation Section to hold suspects accountable in the safest way possible.
