One car fatality collision southbound Interstate 5 on the ramp state Route 528

MARYSVILLE, Wash. –  The Washington State Patrol’s (WSP) Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating a one car fatality collision that occurred early in the morning
on October 6, 2023. Prior to the collision Marysville Police Department was in pursuit of the vehicle, having established probable cause on the driver for Assault 2nd Degree.

This was a one car, single occupant collision that occurred southbound Interstate 5 on the ramp to state Route 528. The blue 2005 Cadillac Escalade took the exit from southbound Interstate 5 to state Route 528. The Escalade exited the roadway to the left on the off ramp and struck a tree. MAIT will be doing a thorough investigation of this collision. The 32 year-old female driver was transported to a nearby hospital where life saving measures were attempted, but the female driver succumbed to her injuries.

Official identification of the deceased driver will be released by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s office at a later time.

This investigation is on-going.
