WSP seeking witnesses to a fatality hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian

Marysville, Wash. – The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is actively investigating a fatality hit-and-run collision that occurred between the evening of October 3, 2023 to the morning of October 4, 2023 on northbound Interstate 5 just south of milepost 199 near 4th Street.

At this time, the WSP knows the pedestrian was on the northbound side of Interstate 5 near milepost 199 and the suspect vehicle was also northbound on Interstate 5. The pedestrian, 35 year-old Gina Blatchford, was struck on Interstate 5 and the suspect vehicle continued northbound from the collision location. Currently, there is no description of the running vehicle.

The WSP is asking for any witnesses that saw a pedestrian walking on the northbound side of Interstate 5 between the evening of October 3, 2023 to the morning of October 4, 2023 or has information about the collision. The WSP is also requesting to speak to anyone who knew the whereabouts of Gina during this time frame. Anyone with the above information is requested to call Detective Daniel Comnick at (360) 529-7367. Your assistance is appreciated as we work to locate the suspect and suspect vehicle.
