This weekend June 22nd-23rd, Fairchild Air Force Base will be hosting Skyfest, showcasing several different aircraft.
TRAFFIC ALERT: This will impact the area on SR2 in the vicinity of Fairchild Air Force Base. Travelers should give plenty of time and expect longer than usual delays between the hours of 9:00AM-6:30PM around the Fairchild Air Force Base. The Main Gate will act as the access point for most traffic. The Graham Gate will have access for VIPs, disabled persons parking and recreational vehicles. Washington State troopers will be in the area assisting with traffic control along with partners from the Department of Transportation. Extra enforcement patrols will be in the area throughout the weekend.
Motorists should be prepared for traffic delays within the area of Fairchild Air Force Base. Please make sure you have plenty of fuel, pack water and food, essential medications, etc.
The Washington State Patrol will have representatives from the Aviation Division as well as a recruiting booth set up inside the event at Skyfest. Please come out and say hello to our Washington State Patrol representatives.
