King County: At approximately noon yesterday, January 14, 2026, Washington State Patrol (WSP) communications received a 9-1-1 call reporting a shooting that occurred on I-5. The victim driver reported that they were struck and had moved off the freeway to Denny and Fairview in Seattle.
Seattle Police contacted the victim and called the Seattle Fire Department to assess injuries. The driver was transported to Harborview in stable condition.
The victim advised this started as a road rage incident NB I-5 in the Tukwila area and they were shot at NB I-5 near the West Seattle Freeway. The suspect vehicle was described as a dark blue Oldsmobile minivan. The victim advised that the person firing was in the front passenger seat and described as a heavyset black male.
WSP detectives are seeking anyone that may have witnessed this shooting or the vehicles prior actions to email Detective Bergeron at Judah.Bergeron@wsp.wa.gov.
Additionally, there was a second gunshot victim that was dropped off at Harborview around the same time. Detectives were able to determine that the two shootings were completely separate.
