Witnesses Needed To A Drive By Shooting On SR 518

King County: At approximately 7:15pm yesterday, July 24, 2024, Washington State Patrol (WSP) communications received a 9-1-1 call from an individual reporting that they were shot at once WB SR 518 near Des Moines Memorial Drive and sustained no injuries.

Troopers contacted the victim, took a statement, and examined their vehicle for damage.  The victim stated they were traveling WB SR 518 approaching Des Moines Memorial Drive when they approached a newer silver Chevy Tahoe that was blocking. The victim further stated they honked their horn to get the Tahoe to move and then went around at which time the driver of the Tahoe fired one round, striking the hood of their vehicle. The Tahoe took off at a high rate of speed and the victim was not able to obtain a license plate. The suspect was described at a white male, heavy set and possible in their mid-thirties.

Troopers discovered an entry point and exit point in the hood of the victim’s white Toyota Tundra.

WSP detectives are asking anyone with information on this drive by shooting to email Detective Haake at Russ.Haake@wsp.wa.gov.
