Two Suspects Arrested For Assault After A Collision On SR 518

King County: At approximately 8:00pm on July 30, 2024, Washington State Patrol (WSP) communications received 9-1-1 calls reported that there was an altercation occurring WB SR 518 near the entrance to the SeaTac airport.

Troopers arrived on scene and met with two victims and learned the suspect vehicle, a dark colored Range Rover had fled the scene. The victim stated he attempted to exchange information with the suspect vehicle when the driver and passenger assaulted him and his wife. The passenger of the victim vehicle was seated in her seat when she was punched in the face through the window by one of the occupants of the suspect vehicle.

During the assault, the victim’s firearm fell to the ground. The suspects retrieved the firearm and retreated to the Range Rover. The victim attempted to move but was struck by the Range Rover knocking him down. The victim and their passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries during this assault.

Through a two-week investigation WSP detectives were able to identify the two suspects and make arrests. Shalynn Dual, 29 and Weldon Carey, 33 were booked into the King County Jail on investigation of multiple felony assault and firearm charges.
