WSP Has Reestablished A New Detachment In North Bend

October 10, 2024

King County: The Washington State Patrol (WSP) has reestablished a new detachment assigned to the North Bend/Snoqualmie Pass. The North Bend Detachment was abolished in 2007, and coverage of Snoqualmie Pass was handled out of the Bellevue Office up until November 2023.

The Sergeant and troopers working in this new detachment are now working out of an office located at the Fire Training Academy located off exit 38 on I-90. Ultimately, we hope to have eight (8) troopers and a sergeant dedicated to this detachment once fully staffed (six troopers will be assigned to it before Winter 2024).

Please join us for an open house tomorrow, October 11, 2024, at 2:30pm to celebrate this milestone.

Captain Ron Mead, commander of Field Operations within King County commented, “It is hoped that the reestablishment of the North Bend Detachment provides the commuters over Snoqualmie Pass and the residents of the Snoqualmie Valley the dedicated WSP presence they deserve, and which has been lacking along this important corridor for far too long.”
