1933: During fire prevention week October 8-14, 1933, a press release was issued by the Office of the State Fire Marshal based on a proclamation by the President of the United States for everyone to be aware of the life loss and fire loss nationwide and not regard fire as something that happens to someone else. Also, there was a reminder that fire losses are paid out of the pockets of every one who pays a premium and that fires can have a direct effect on the economy of communities.
