King County: At approximately 11:55pm on September 3, 2025, Washington State Patrol (WSP) communications received a 9-1-1 from a victim reporting they were shot at by another vehicle SB I-5 near the Convention Center. The victim stated that they were uninjured.
Trooper arrived and observed several bullet holes in the victim’s vehicle. The suspect vehicle was described as a Gray Honda Accord and a license plate was provided. The suspect was described as a white male with short hair.
In the following days detectives reviewed dash cam videos, surveillance video and conducted multiple interviews. The suspect was identified and linked to a Seattle Police case which occurred only minutes before the shooting.
The suspect vehicle was located by an allied agency and the suspect was arrested on an unrelated charge. WSP detectives took possession of the vehicle and were granted a search warrant in which a firearm was located along with other evidence that was linked to the drive-by shooting and confirmed the suspect, Zachary J. Jackson, 29-year-old from Auburn was involved.
On October 9, 2025, WSP detectives were notified that Jackson was booked into a local jail on an unrelated warrant. Jackson was transferred to WSP custody and booked into the King County Jail on multiple felony charges.
