Trooper Arrests Impaired Driver Returning Home From Receiving An Award

King County: On Saturday, September 13, 2025, Trooper Nunez was presented with an award from the Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD) organization at the University of Washington campus. He was recognized for outstanding work removing impaired drivers from the roadways.

Trooper Nunez was returning home around 1:30pm when he was passed by a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed southbound I-5 near S. 272nd St. He was able to pace the vehicle at 100mph and subsequently conducted a traffic stop. The driver exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested for suspected DUI. Test results showed the driver was three times the legal limit of .08.

Trooper Nunez continued the work he was recognized for and removed another unsafe driver with suspected impairment. Great Job!
