The Administrative Procedure Act (APA) is the state law that outlines the standards the agency must follow when it engages in rule making. The Washington State Patrol (WSP) uses six types of rule-making actions – preproposal, proposal, expedited repeal, expedited adoption, emergency adoption, and adoption. These actions are usually referred to by the number of the form we use to file the rule with the Office of the Code reviser. If you would like updates on the agency’s rules, please sign up for our “WAC Rules List” ListServ.
